Hen Party Games

A hens night lives or dies on its games, so it pays to line up a few good ones before the day. After years of hens parties around Australia, these are the six that get every group going, from the shy bridesmaid to the mother of the bride.

Your Butler in the Buff will run whichever games you pick. He’ll explain the rules, keep score, judge the winners and get stuck in himself. Start with the six below, and ask him on the night if you’d like a few more.

Pin The Junk On The Hunk

The idea

A grown-up take on Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Everyone reckons they know where it goes, until the blindfold’s on.

You’ll need: A game kit with a poster and stickers, which you’ll need to bring yourself.

How it works

  1. Stick the poster of the male torso to a wall or door.
  2. Blindfold the first player and check she can’t peek.
  3. Turn her around a few times.
  4. Hand her a sticker and point her towards the poster.
  5. Whoever lands closest to the right spot wins.

Mr & Mrs

The idea

Find out how well the bride really knows her other half.

You’ll need: A bit of homework. Send the groom 15 to 20 questions before the party and bring his answers along.

How it works

  1. Your butler reads out a question the groom has already answered.
  2. A right answer lets the bride choose someone in the group to take a shot.
  3. A wrong answer means the shot is hers, from a glass or off the butler.

Prosecco Pong

The idea

Beer pong with bubbles. Land the ball in the other team’s glass and they drink.

You’ll need: A glass or cup for each player, Prosecco or shots, and a few ping pong balls.

How it works

  1. Line up the same number of glasses at each end of a table.
  2. Half fill each one.
  3. Divide the group into two teams.
  4. Take turns throwing the ball down the table. If it lands in one of your glasses, you drink it.
  5. The team with the most glasses still standing wins.

Pass The Cucumber

The idea

A relay race where the cucumber travels down the line using legs only. The first team to get it to the end in one piece wins.

You’ll need: One cucumber per team.

How it works

  1. Form two teams and stand each one in a line.
  2. The first player grips the cucumber between her knees.
  3. Pass it knee to knee down the line, with no hands.
  4. Drop it and it goes back to the start.
  5. The fastest team to the end takes the win.

Pop The Balloon

The idea

A race to burst balloons against your butler without using your hands. The more inventive the position, the better.

You’ll need: A bag of balloons.

How it works

  1. Divide the group into two teams.
  2. Give everyone a balloon.
  3. One at a time, pop your balloon between you and the butler using your best moves.
  4. The team that bursts the most wins.

Find The Band-Aid

The idea

A blindfolded search of your butler against the clock.

You’ll need: A blindfold and a pack of stickers or Band-Aids.

How it works

  1. Blindfold the first player, with no peeking.
  2. Someone else in the group hides a sticker or Band-Aid somewhere on the butler. Kind or cheeky is up to her.
  3. The blindfolded player hunts for it by touch.
  4. Time each go.
  5. The slowest player gets a forfeit chosen by the butler.
